Nike Sports Research Lab

Project Overview

We partnered with the Nike Sports Research Lab to take complex data gathered from top athletes and bring it to life in a fresh series of infographics.

We took biomechanical analysis of speed, accuracy and control from elite soccer squad The Academy and plotted them into a simple series of graphs. The resulting designs showed athletes their visual ranking within the squad for the first time, along with areas where they excel or need improvement.

The NSRL data was a welcome evolution to Nike, as it took a puzzling set of spreadsheets and transformed them into a dynamic and useful case study in visualizing athletic skill. It's a leap forward in combining sport and data into beautiful information design.
